Yoy have to download drivers to make the button work, on non 3d models the button changes between battery saving/high performance.
on 3 models it enables/disables 3d.
Just go to asus website and get all the computer drivers there.

The ASUS ATK Package must be installed. It controls the Function keys and ROG button. The Power4Gear application must also be installed to give you the ROG button functionality you describe.
