Hey
At the moment i got a 2500k i5 prosessor in my computer, and i looking for a upgrade.
so i browsed and i found theese to offers, but i can't decide. heres the options:

AMD FX-8350 4GHz w/ Corsair H80I watercooler
OR
Intel Core i7-2700K 3.5GHz w/ Stock cooler

The AMD specs are deffinetly better, though, i heard it's very unstable and gets too hot, thats why i included the H80I Water cooler. The AMD only costs 10 dollars more...

What do you think?

With all due respect .. if you have an intel motherboard then the choice is made, an intel cpu.

you would need an amd board upgrade to use the 8350. best of luck. Welcome to ROG.c.

No disrespect for AMD as I have a spare system with one but intel is number 1 for a reason. And Im sure if you added a better cooler to the intel it would outclock the AMD.

So that leads us to the next question. What are your goals of use for this new build ??
Both have their pluses and minuses. (are you benching or gaming or ? .. ie.)
Do you have a preference of nvidia or ati ??
btw .. unstable ?? You 'heard' wrong.

My preference is .. amd cpu/gpu's all the way.

fbm211 .. no.1 @ what ?? hahhahaha Price ??? [of course said with all due respect friend.]

[also take notice of the board used in 'highest memory freq's' and cpu records]

This is very informative as well.

Please note in post #2 I did say board 'UpGrade' .. hehe .. .c.

Sorry ,I meant that intel is what most people get....I had no idea that some people got such high clocks either....If I cant get my graphics problems sorted out I just may get me a Crosshair V Formula and AMDs best CPU.Im gonna go check out those CPUs right now as a matter of fact.

Well, yes... it greatly depends on what you're gonna use your computer for...

AMD can be a very reliable system for everyday use - with a great cost/performance ratio...

The FX8350 is as stable as any CPU - with right settings! However, the thing about running hot is true... don't forget, it has 8 cores...

Personally I would forget the H80 for any kind of CPU... get at least a dual 120mm radiator or stay with air-cooling (even a H100 isn't so much better than the top air-coolers, it's just give you more room around your socket)...

I do have a Crosshair V Formula-Z with a FX-8350 - it's very cool!

It depends one what you plan to do with it.

you could use that intel cpu you have and trow it in the new rig, unless you have other plans for it.

fbm211 .. no problem at all bro. it's the chevy/ford/mopar thing all over again. it is what U like.
as to your graphics issue .. have you tried those games with just one 680 ?? lots of horsepower there.
I would think from what I read on your other thread that it is more of a software or ram issue than hardware.
take another look at your nic driver .. and then possibly your psu.
best of luck.c.
