UEFI Windows 8 install.

Hi,

I've set up my machine some time ago and have been playing with it.
Now that I'm happy with the setup (settings, programs, etc..) I'd like to reinstall everything and have a clean system again.

I'd also like to try UEFI, however some things are unclear to me.
A full backup was made, so worst case I can still go back.
My BIOS is the latest version.

First my hardware:

Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe
Intel i7-3770k @ stock
16 GB ram @ stock
Geforce GTX 670 (x2 SLI)
Samsung 830 SSD (Intel Sata 6Gb/s)
Seagate 2TB (Intel Sata 6Gb/s)
Blu-ray (Marvell 6Gb/s)
Asus Phoebus

Now do I have to change things in my BIOS/UEFI to make sure this works?
Do both the SSD and Seagate have to be formatted in GPT?
Anything else needs special attention?

Assuming the installation works.
This is actually a general OS installation question.
Do you update Windows first or do you install drivers first?

Also what is really needed?

Asus site:

Intel Chipset Driver v9.3.0.1021 (2 version on the asus site, first is 245 MB the second is only 3.45 MB) - required
Intel Management Engine Interface v8.1.0.1263 - not required
Audio - not required, will be using Asus Phoebus, not the onboard
VGA - not required, intel graphics, will be using 2x GTX 670
Intel Lan Driver V17.3.0.0 - required
Realtek LAN driver V8.3.730.2012 - required
Asus AI Suite II V2.01.01 - not required, but will install anyway
Marvel MSU Utility V4.1.0.2013 - no idea
Wi-Fi Drvier v6.30.59.20 - required
Intel Smart Connect Technology V3.0.41.1571 - ??
Intel Rapid Start Technology Software V2.1.0.1002 - ??
Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology Driver Software V11.5.0.1207 - ??
Marvell SATA 6G Driver V1.2.0.1027 - required
Asmedia SATA Controller Driver V1.3.4.0 -required
Asmedia AHCI Driver V1.3.4.0 - required
Bluetooth Driver V12.0.0.2200 -required
Asus Phoebus -required

Not from Asus site:

Nvidia drivers
Samsung magician software

Did I forget anything?
Would you adjust something?

All help is welcome. 🙂

Kind regards!

Already seen that post. 🙂
Still wasn't clear on everything.

My cards are EVGA GTX 670 FTW.
Do you need a "special" vbios or just the latest one?
I found this, but I'm not sure.

hey sorry for late response, got caught up gamming 😛
download http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/
where your bios version is displayed you have like a small chip symbol
when you put your curser over it it says "save bios"
click that and save,
then what I did was sent Jacob an email asking nicely 😛 for vbios update for card
and attach bios file you saved earlier 🙂 that way they can make sure your new vbios
will flash your card successfully 🙂 you could probably mention you want it to support uefi
if you can't find Jacobs email in forum let me know and I can pm ya
🙂
edit, as far as the firmware update, I'm not sure about that, perhaps mention that
in your email, you might have to do that first ?
