Metro Last Light - Performance Blows

JDRhoads
Level 7
So I just started playing Metro Last Light... I have a 6970 2gb DDR5, i7 3770k @ 3.9Ghz (sometimes 4.5Ghz). 16gb of ram. The game is on a Solid State Drive. And it performs like ****! Low FPS drops in certain environments and views. Settings are as low as possible. It is as though the game designers developed it for looks, not performance. I don't pay all this money both for the game and the build just to have a companies tendency to over render crap ruin my experience. Anybody else have this problem with the new Metro? Or do you think its me?

Not available here for 2 more days 😛

But the recommended is a GTX Titan so I suppose it is heavy on systems.....

Sometimes I wonder if bad coding isn't passed off as "is your system good enough to run this"

You are exactly right. It is my theory, that if performance is low and you drop your settings but it has no effect, then the code of the game is sh**. I agree, that I have a Sh** ton of money tied up in my pc and it is very frustrating to have the same troubles as I did running a Q8300 and 8800 GTX OC. It is ridiculous.

Lower than expected performance on ATI cards

Make sure to turn off Advanced PhysX under Options > Game Options.

its working fine for my gtx 660,your 580 should have no problem. I'll be honest when I say crysis puts more strain on the gpu then this - his problem is lack of drivers for this nvidia tuned game

I started playing this morning and it seems to be running fine for me too. 1080 put a bit of a strain onit, but in 720 and all max settings I stayed fixed on 60fps.

In a particular section of the game I keep blue-screening. Whats up with that?? How can that happen over a video card.
