Asus P5Q Deluxe problems

Hi,

We have an Asus P5Q deluxe computer that we bought about 2 years ago, the last time that we ran the computer was about a year or more ago and it worked fine. We then boxed it back up and stored it away.

Today we're trying to get it to boot into Windows Vista (which is already installed on the HDD) however the computer turns on, but the monitor goes into sleep mode saying it's not getting a signal. Also we never see any bios information come on screen when booting the computer, nor does the keyboard led's light up as if it's not being recognized (yes, it's plugged into a USB port).

We've now tried multiple video cards (in case one is bad) and tried multiple monitors and multiple keyboards.

Does anybody have any clues, any clues at all what could be wrong that it's not sending out a signal to the monitor nor recognizing the keyboard?

The motherboard is getting power, both the reset button and the button next to it with the red power icon are lit up when we power up the computer but no video signal nor any lights on the keyboard.

Help would be greatly appreciated of anything we should be checking or testing at this point.

Thanks if you can help us out on this.

Did you clean everything thoroughly before powering it on? With a whole year of inactivity, components can get dirty.

Please confirm that you have the 12v PSU connector correctly fitted. It is the 8pin right on the edge next to the socket.

And if possible please use a PS/2 keyboard with that mobo.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.
