Very nice.....I want one of those......at least I think I do.....5760x1200=6,912000....3840x2160=8,294400....20% more pixels....how much VRAM and GPU grunt do you need to run it?

Yes it is for 16:9

4K UHDTV (2160p) has a resolution of 3840 × 2160 (8.3 megapixels), 4 times the pixels of 1920 × 1080 (2.1 megapixels).

Hmmm you're right...it´s not real 4K...it's 4KUHD....hope that drops the price a lot 😉

From what I can tell UHD is what's coming out in the consumer display space.. 'true' 4k looks to be limited to be one of the resolutions used by digital cinema.

I don't expect we'll see 4k laptops anytime soon with the current trend of GPUs

Who knows...HP is starting to sell an Ultrabook with a pretty impressive screen resolution (can't remember what it is, but its >> 1080p). I hope that we will see some really high-res laptop screens in the near-term future, since they would look so nice! Especially once we can put the maximum amount of code on a screen and see more pages at once! 🙂
I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!

We now have 178 people whose systems will not break! Yippee! 🙂
LINUX Users, we have a group!

15" MacBook Pro sports a WQXGA+ screen, that's pretty good. Pixel density is likely a lot higher than on this ASUS display!

??? What are you guys talking about?
UHD's official resolution is 3840x2160.
It is 4K, since 4K just means UHD...

If anyone is wondering, 4096x2160 is also UHD 4K, but the ratio isn't 16:9, it's 1.9:1 (movies use different aspect ratios).
FYI 3456x2160 is also UHD 4K

This monitor is nice but...
What's the black-to-black response time? 8ms not gtg not very good for gaming... What's the gamut? It's still an LCD after all...
Pixel density isn't very high since the monitor is huge...

One of these days ASUS will catch up to IBM (12 years old IBM, but whatever)... 😞

grey to grey is 8ms ( says so in the PDF and theres some specs too in it )
