Is this driver compatible with RIVE ?
CPU: 3960X(C2)@4.8GHz (Offset +0.045, LLC-medium), HT-on, 24/7
MB: ASUS Rampage IV Extreme X79 (bios 4206)
GPU: GTX580 3-Way SLI@900/1800/2100 1.100v.
RAM: 16Gb G.SKILL RipjawsZ 2133Mhz 9-11-10-28(2T) 1.65v
SSD1: 128Gb SSD OCZ Vertex 4
SSD2: 512Gb SSD OCZ Vertex 4
HDD: 2Tb WD Caviar Black
PSU: Lepa G1600-MA 1600W
Case: Danger Dan Black Series - LDR Tower 29 - Double Wide
Cool: Water
Monitor: Dell 3007WFP-HC
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro x64 (UEFI)

^ It's compatible with all boards with MEI firmware 8.0+. I have it installed, and it's running fine with my RIVE (running firmware MEI 8.1.40.1416).

"• Starting from Intel® ME 9.0, Intel will release one version only of Intel® ME
software, which will be used for all generations of ME firmware from Intel®
ME 8.0 onwards. (This applies to all Intel® ME software - e.g., LMS,
IMSS, etc.- and the installer.) This will simplify maintenance, manufacturing
and IT administration.
• There will be one installation package. The software determines during
runtime which features are supported by the platform’s firmware version,
and only loads the appropriate modules to support those features."

Curious, how did you install the LMS driver?

Looking to upgrade my ME, as I understand it I can't upgrade from 7.x straight to the latest 8.x, I have to flash to a earlier one first. I've been following the instructions in this thread, but I get the following output from MEInfoWin64.exe:

F:\Downloads\Intel\ME firmware\me_firmware_1318\MEInfo\Windows64>MEInfoWin64.exe

I'm worried about the line that says "Error 1002: Failed to retrieve Intel (R) ME FW Version" - is that something to worry about?

Also, where do I get fptw64 from? I've only got FWUpdate (FWUpdLcl64.exe) ?

EDIT: Resolved myself I think, I flashed my 7.x ME firmware to 8.1.10.1286, and then to 8.1.40.1416, and upgraded the MEI drivers. My output now looks like this:

Does this look ok? My GBe version is 1.3 when others are 1.5 - is that anything to be concerned about?

GBE is the Gigabit LAN version. It's a completely separate firmware update. Do a search for it on this forum, there is a thread about it.
