Well, yes... and no... - have you observed that even Arne wasn't running that chip at 5.2GHz?
When you're running the memory at very high frequencies (2400 and up for IB-E) and with tight timings, you will need to have high voltages on the IMC part of the CPU... then if you want the cores to run high too, you will need to increase the Vcore too... - then the cooling won't be good enugh for all that heat...

Yepp, you're quite right. Might be better to back down the mem clock and tigthen up timings for this bench.

Have you tried this w/o HT? Seems it doesn't really multithread that great considering the how well the Ivy's do, X79's should get higher scores if all 12 threads were used all out. Have not done any calculations on that tho.

But in most cpu tests Ivy's just don't have to much of a chance to get that close.

not a easy task to keep up with all the scores..

I managed to get a successful boot-in @ 5078MHZ on my CPU, 967MHZ for my RAM....ran RBench and it threw up a BSOD, something about a device driver being caught trying to corrupt the Kernel Stack lmfao. At that point i'd spent about an hour trying to get a successful OC @ 5.2...didn't like it, eventually wound back until successful @ above speed...voltage was like @ 1.58v decided to give up and reset default settings lol. My best bet would be to either a) put the board under a liquid loop, or b) halve my RAM again(to 4GB) so the IMC doesn't work so hard.
