G74 Advice Please! Want to install SSD

Hi guys, I have owned a G50V for a few years and am finally upgrading to a G74SX-XT1. I will be getting it in a week or so, and I would like to replace the HDD with an OCZ Agility 3 SSD. I want to do a clean Win7 install (I assume cloning is not the better option). I am decently tech savvy (currently waiting on a replacement screen for my G50V) but I am not too experienced with OS install.

Anyways I would just like to hear from anyone who's done a clean install onto a SSD, what was the procedure you used? The confusing part for me is the fact that there is no OS disk, so I am confused on how to handle that. Do I need to burn the recovery partition to a DVD (and if so would I do that with an ASUS or Windows utility)? Or can I just install Win7 to the SSD from the HDD's partition and switch them around afterwards?

I also read stuff on OCZ's forums about needing to switch between IDE/AHCI on some computers, is that or any other weird stuff necessary?

Sorry I have done all the research I can but reading about all the SSD quirks has me a bit overwhelmed! Thanks for any help you guys can give.

You can clone your install, and I've done it myself, but it can have issues. You can hit my Drivers and Apps page, and download the Win 7 ISO I have hosted there.

Yeah thanks I am actually almost done downloading that. Guess I will just install it with that and hope it goes off without a hitch.

New technology is scary!

You can also see I have a lot of updated drivers listed too, to make your reinstall faster.
