Hi friends finally i am successful in finding out the stable oc setting. I don't know why my performance degrades when i raise anything above 43 multiplier.
So my final setting are 43X and 1.155v manual.
My question is about day to day use is that if i select adaptive voltage then voltage will increase above the safe value while gaming is i'm right or it only increases during benchmark or stress test. plz help me in this final step.

That's normal, I would not worry about it. Especially the mild voltage you are using.

I have had 2 issues with my Formula so far:
CPU Overvoltage error - Any way to turn this off? My cooling setup isn't thermally constrained so it can handle 1.6V+ to the Vcore. TBH I'm a bit annoyed at all the stupid warnings and errors this board throws. First CPU fan error, then the overvoltage error. Is this a mobo meant for enthusiasts or babies?
LN2 mode was grayed out disabled. Is there some secret means to enable this or was I doing something wrong?
I'm also having trouble getting my desktop to stay hibernated...keeps waking up even when disconnected from LAN. Need to mess with some of the BIOS power settings still to see if I can fix it.Last edited by dr/owned; 05-19-2014 at 08:31 PM.

1) Board is meant for both thypes of users. Just requires a bit of knowledge of what to change. Disable F1 Halt in BOOT settings for the OV warning. CPU Fan error if you don't have a fan plugged in then disable the FAN Low Limit setting within the fan control section. There is a warning mech if no fan is detected or if the fan spins slower than the fan low limit threshold.
2) LN2 mode jumper needs to be on LN2 mode. If not running LN2 mode, don't put the jumper in the LN2 position.
3) Yes, check power options etc. Ensure allow wake timers is disabled. Also I believe some of the IRST drivers were known to cause sleep issues like this as well.

Might be a dumb question, but I don't recall seeing any mention of the LN2 jumper in the manual. Is this the jumper that's circled here: http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread...MUS-VI-FORMULA

Finally Got Around to 1402
Given the monthly releases for a while there, and hearing peeps w/ the same issues (Still can't match OCs that were stable on 0804) on 1402, I figured I'd wait for 150x .... finally had some time this weekend and figured I'd mess with 1402
Now at 1402, my OCs have sunk a lil bit further (RAM @ 2400, rad fan rpm @ 1200, pump speed @ 3000 rpm).
This mornings run ..... RoG Real Bench (16GB / 2 hours) stable and Intel 8 hours stable
CPU Multiplier / Cache Max / Cache Min / DRAM
46/43/43/Auto (1600)
CPU-Adapt. / Cache-Adapt. / 1600
Ambient = 19.2
Coolant (Idle) = 21.8
Idle / Average / Max
Core 0 / 23 / 56.7 / 70
Core 1 / 22 / 56.6 / 69
Core 2 / 20 / 53.5 / 66
Core 3 / 21 / 51.10 / 60
Setting / BIOS / Observed
VCore / 1.380 / 1.040/ 1.488 *
VCC Ring / 1.380 / 1.403 / 1.422
VCCIN (Ev) / 2.070 / / 2.093
DRAM / Auto / 1.674 / 1.684
* Under Open CL (w/ AVX)
I'm pretty sure I can get VCCIN down as I was stable at 2.04 with 46/46/46/1600 ... that one PO'd me a bit as it was stable in both stress tests but spontaneously rebooted in RoG Benchmark about 5 seconds AFTER completion
This evening's run
46/43/43/XMP (2400)
CPU-Adapt. / Cache-Adapt. / 1600
Ambient = 24.4
Coolant (Idle) = 26.5
Idle / Average / Max
Core 0 / 27 / 59.4 / 73
Core 1 / 28 / 60.9 / 65
Core 2 / 26 / 58.1 / 72
Core 3 / 26 / 54.9 / 67
Setting / BIOS / Observed
VCore / 1.385 / 1.040/ 2 cores @ 1.488 / 2 cores @ 1.504 *
VCC Ring / 1.385 / 1.403 / 1.422
VCCIN (Ev) / 2.040 / - - / 2.053
DRAM / 1.70 / 1.715 / 1.722
Note: When AVX not present, Max Vcore is 1.408
Suggestions / Warnings / Comments .... ?
I am trying ti get a handle on VCCIN .... after failures at a certain point I had learned to increase it a bit .... then when testing at 2.07 and failing ..... 2.08, 2.09 and 2.10 were worse but 2.05 and 2.04 was better . Any idea just what goes on w/ VCCIN ... ? After dropping VCCIN, is it worthwhile to go back and try lowering Vcore and VCCring ?
1. I tested at 45/45/45/1600 and 45/46/39/1600 and was surprised to see a consistent delta in performance with VCCring set at 45/45 and 45/39 .... thought when called upon min wud rise t max and maintain performance.
2. Any other suggestions for limiting the voltage bump under Adaptive ? I mean how does it decide how much to add..... most references say 0.100 but I see as much 0.113. BIOS 0804 never grabbed that much. Is it taking that amount because it's grabbing what is needed or is guessing. And if it is, is it worth experimenting to try and limit the bump.... is a guy on OCN claiming that he sees only 0.01

Not a lot of action here of late but I hope someone can address this.
1. HWiNFO64 reports that the Asus EC Embedded Controller is present and that reading data from this sensor "can cause a higher load or latency which can result in performance drops. On some systems it can also have an impact on system stability". Does anyone have any idea if this is a generic disclaimer on their part or is this specific to the Asus EC ? So far I have found nothing else to read cache voltage with. I find the value I set in BIOS can range from 0.023 to 0.025 higher reading it in the BIOS and from 0.023 low to 0.041 high in HWiNFO64. I do notice it sometimes "gets stuck" ..... by that I mean sometimes I will run RoG RB and see it slightly above the BIOS setting and then others it will read at 1.14 no matter where I set it in BIOS.
2. The guide basically says that I can leave voltage on Auto but I find that I am unstable if I don't. I have squeaked by the recommended 1.35 max VID as I using 1.385 for VID but my max temps are cool at 72, 72, 68, 62. Vcore tops out in RoG at 1.392 in Image Editing and 1.408 in Encoding and Multitasking which I am confortable with given the temps but of course under Open CL, I get up to 1.488 with one core (sometimes 2) hitting 1.504.
3. I remember reading so far that raising cache voltage above a certain point is detrimental to performance.
4. Once finding stability with VCCIN, VID, Vring and DRAM settings, I find lowering one can sometimes result in the ability to lower another. Any rhyme or reason to this procedure or just random luck ?October 26 Build
