Windows 8 boot question

Am i right to think that when you convert to MBR from UEFI
then you have your normal boot/startup again..
Like 1-2 minutes.

with the UEFI it takes maybe 10-20 seconds.
it's like a boot images loads and you are ready to go..

Please correct me if I am wrong people..
I tried putting it on MBR, and booting took forever when I tried it.

MBR vs GPT initializes differently due to the BIOS vs EFI, which have their advantages and disadvantages. EFI boots the GPT, vs the MBR going with the BIOS.
I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!

Yes and since you converted to MBR, you can not go back with out cleaning your disk and reinstalling. MBR is ancient and GPT is new I've only had this NB on UEIF / GPT so I can't compare, Something new we need to learn and get used to.

If you can use the EFI+GPT system, then that would be great. Sometimes the lack of compatibility with older operating systems - Windows 7 - can be a consideration that precludes its use.

True however Win 7 SP1 does support UEIF GPT, my notebook is running this way. I don't really see much difference other than the lack of having a corrupted MBR. Its the way all new computers are shipping. So for me the faster I figure it out.:D There are issues with back up programs, not so much normal back ups but Images and restoring Images. Macrium Reflect has no problems with it. Acronis says they have it, but the best I can tell it will only restore a partition not a full complete disk image. I haven 't tried to restore any of my images yet!! It seems they have problems restoring the boot partition correctly. Anyway Macrium has it solved so the rest will follow.
