    ASUS l ROG @ Intel Lanfest Phoenix

    ASUS ROG Overclocking Contest

    The goal of this contest is to have the lowest SuperPi 1M benchmark score
    To do this you will need to overclock on the provided demo system using the ROG Connect software
    You will have 30 minutes to overclock, benchmark, validate and submit your score online to
    You must be registered on the ASUS ROG Forums and have an account registered with under “ASUS Republic of Gamers” Team to be eligible for prizes.
    By registering on the forums and joining the “ASUS Republic of Gamers” team you will receive an ROG T-shirt

    Benchmark validation and submission
    1: Sign up for a 30 minute time slot to Overclock
    2: Overclock the System using the ASUS ROC connect software
    3: Run SuperPi from the desktop
    - Click “Calculate”
    - Select “1M” and click “OK”
    - When prompted clock “OK” again to start
    - When the Finished window appears DO NOT click OK yet
    - Run “CPU-Z” From the desktop
    - Take a screen shot by pressing “print screen” on the keyboard (TPUCAPTURE)
    - Save the Picture under your First and Last Name
    4: Go to to register (
    - Select Team “ASUS Republic of Gamers”
    - Once logged in select “Submit Score”
    - Under “Processor Benchmark” select “SuperPi”
    - Fill out required system information
    - Under “Verification” upload the screenshot you captures (C:\Users\ROG\Pictures)
    - “Submit Result”
    5: Signup on the ASUS Republic of Gamers Forums
    - Go to and Register
    - Reply to the Phoenix Lanfest thread in the Events section
    - Tell us what u thought of the event and the ASUS booth, maybe some suggestions you would like to make about future events!

    What do the ROG connect settings do?
    BCLK MHz
    Base Clock
    -Similar to theolder FSB “Front Side Bus”
    BCLK x CPU ratio = CPU frequency
    Adjust the BCLK frequency to overclock the CPU speed!
    PCIE MHz
    Periferal Connect Interface Express
    -Video Graphics communication link
    CPU Voltage
    Central Processing Unit
    -Processor core voltage
    DO NOT EXCEED 1.65v
    IMC Voltage
    - L3 shared cache
    - memory controller
    - processor I/O power rail
    Since memory controller frequency is dependent on BCLK, the higher the BCLK, the higher the IMC voltage required. DO NOT Exceed 1.55v
    DRAM Voltage
    DDR3 Random Access Memory
    -Memory Voltage
    Since DRAM speed is linked to the BCLK the higher the BCLK the higher the DRAM Voltage is needed
    CPU PLL Voltage
    PLL: Phase Locked Loop voltage
    - Processor/IMC(Integrated Memory Controller)/other internal clock cycles
    - Clock multiplying of processor is provided by an internal Phase Locked Loop
    Does not have a significant effect on CPU Speed
    PCH Voltage
    Platform Controller Hub
    - main I/O interface for CPU
    - display connectivity
    - Integrated Audio
    - power management features
    - Storage features
    The higher the CPU frequency, the harder the I/O (input and output) has to work so there is higher power consumption and more heat is generated, raising the CPU temperature. The PCH voltage needs to be increased in order to stabilize I/O signaling. DO NOT EXCEED 1.25v
    To achieve the maximum OC, begin with Increasing the BCLK in 5 to 10MHz increments.
    1. If you crash increase your voltage before you boot
    2. Run SuperPi 1M to test for stability
    3. Continue increasing the frequency and voltages in increments
    Unstable System: increase the voltages . OR Lower the Frequencies (133 BCLK is stock) Keep repeating this until the system is stable.
    *Tip*: The best way to find out which voltage is causing the instability is Process of Elimination “according to your 6th sense” adjust one voltage at a time to higher values with ALL other voltages staying unchanged and see if the system is stable after this. If it is not stable, then try tweaking another voltage in the same way. WARNING too high of a voltage can cause instability!
