G750JH Hard drive details

heya,

i have been searching the net for the last few hours, but to not avail, i am trying to find out is the 2x msata ssds in raid on the motherboard in msata/mini-pci-e slots or are they in one of the hard drive bays on a funky adapter.

also if they are on the motherboard in there own slots, does it still have 2 hard drive bays,

so you can have 2 msata ssds in raid, and 2 sata hard drives.

cheers

yes it has 2 bays

That doesn't really answer the question. We know it has 2 HDD bays. The question is: does it also have two mSATA slots, or are the two mSATA SSDs occupying one of the two HDD bays?

In other words, can you set it up with two HDDs and also two mSATA SSDs, all at the same time?

Edit: the guy in this video (about the G750JW) says that the two mSATA SSDs in the G750JH will occupy one of the two HDD bays, which is disappointing if true:

I guess we won't actually know until they start producing them. My understanding of what I have read is that the 2 msata SSD take up Slot 0. I don't see the point in this myself but I guess in Raid configuration they would run faster than a straight up SSD?

I really want to try this http://www.amazon.com/mSATA-SATAII-Inches-Adaper-Housing/dp/B00AKKK4Q0/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=U... With my G750JW. Since the MSATA Prices are very cheap.

If it is only 1 SATA II interface, it won't be any faster than 1 SATA II device in throughput, even with 2 devices RAID'd behind it.

I haven't found a SATA III multi-mSATA adapter, only single mSATA => SATA III adapters
http://www.mfactors.com/ts50-25d9-sataiii-to-msata-ssd-adapter-with-2-5-housing/

They also have the RAID mSATA => SATA II adapter:

I've noticed that too. I might just invest in an SSD. And wait until a dual msata SATA III adapter is released.

You give up one of you hard drive bays for the raid storage, so you get the 1 hard drive bay and a card in the other that has the two raid chip cards on it, it is attached so you can not simply remove the raid and install a second hard drive, my current goal is to upgrade the size of the raid chips as they are currently 128G each total 256G, and then of coarse I have already I replaced my traditional 1Tb hard drive with a 1Tb SSD drive instead.
