Here is a quick unboxing of the Rampage II Gene which was the first micro ATX ROG board for the X58 chipset. This followed right after the Rampage II Extreme came out. Its aimed towards the hardcore gaming enthusiasts that want to get the most out of their gaming system without breaking the bank.

Power Design
- 8-phase CPU power
- 2-phase QPI/DRAM power
- 2-phase NB power
- 2-phase Memory power





The Rampage II Gene support an X58 Chipset and LGA1366 socket type. This board can support 6 memory dimms which can support up to 24GB of ram. 2x SLI and Crossfire ready




The northbridge heatsink also shows off a touch of ROG in it.



Supreme FX X-Fi


Rear IO has 6x USB 2.0 ports, firewire, E-Sata, PS2 port, Gigabit lan, 8 channel audio, optical SPDIF, and a clear CMOS button.


7x Sata 3Gb/s ports





Qconnectors make it easier to plug in your power/reset/LED plugs


and it comes with an LCD poster

Looks like a decent motherboard for lan party computer's aswell as Multimedia pc's

I have to say I love my board. Bought it a year ago open box from newegg and its still running strong. Currently it has my i7 920 @ 4Ghz on air that I use for folding. Its been up to 4.2Ghz on water, I never tried for more.
