C2 stepping laptops without USB bug ETA?

Hi,

I was wondering when updated laptops were coming out. Apparently C2 motherboards are already hitting the market.

For those unaware of the issue, read HERE.

Are there going to be some stickers, or model number changes (such as G750JX_XXXX) to distinguish between them?
I read that fixed ASUS motherboards would be carrying stickers on their boxes.

Personally interested in availability in Europe, Germany here, but others may be interested in different regions.

Thanks!

So my G750JW is bugged? Shouldn't Intel issue a refund or replacement?

They definitely won't replace anything since they found this bug to be "acceptable". You can check what version you have using CPU-Z afaik.

Yea, mine are too. I just want to know if it is bugged. "Acceptable" is intel trying not to fix stuff. I just want to have a laptop that i can use to its full potential.

If you have a C1 chipset, then you have this bug. Refer to the links in the OP if you want to know how the bug manifests itself.

I'd still like to get some official information about ETA and identifying refreshed laptops, please.

Bump?

Still need a timeframe and a way to identify updated laptops...

Updated motherboards are already for sale, and EAN-codes are listed for C2 ones.

Will there be new EAN-codes for C2 laptops?

Guys can someone please help me here as I am confused?

I just checked CPU-Z and it shows my CPU as 4700HQ "Stepping 3 - Revision C0"

Is this the good or bad batch? I purchased the laptop last week so fingers crossed I got the fixed / updated one. 😞

you need to look under Southbridge, if it says 04 then that's stepping 1

It says Chipset: Haswell Rev 06 - Southbridge ID8C4B Rev 04

Which means I have the bugged board? 😞

So what exactly happens now? Will Asus recall the laptops or something? Mine is only a week old! 😞

Nothing. Not even sure you can replace this under warranty if you have USB issues.

That's why I want to avoid C1.
