By testing manually, like always, I have an oc of 4.4 Ghz with 1.35vcore.

My settings are: Memory XMP (2400), Sync all cores to 44, and manual vcore to 1.35.

System seems stable, but I afraid to go higher as it needs more voltage. I tried 4.5 Ghz and it worked with 1.4 volt.

My cooling is pretty good, I have triple rad, and an EK supremacy block. Idle temps are 29-31 and under normal load (e.g. Cinebench) they go up to 60.

Should I pump more voltage? What is the normal allowed? I mean I have seen ppl giving up to 1.5 volts to reach 4.8 Ghz, but is that ok?
Temperature looks really good for the voltage you have there. Here is around 40 with air cooler and 1.12v at 4.2. What else have you tried there? Post some bios screens here so we can see what you have there already.
Do not pass 1.6v, it's too much already, I think. With this kind of cooling and temps you would be fine.

That's addressed in the manual.... don't remember exactly where but remember reading that 8 is just fine, and the extra four is for some aggressive OC'ing

    My results:

    BIOS 0804

Had goal of 4.6 w/ minimal BIOS edits

    CPU Multiplier = 46
    Voltage Control = Adaptive
    RAM Speed = XMP (2400)
    VID = 1.380
    Windows Power Setting = Balanced
    (No Other BIOS Changes)

    Results under RoG Bench

    --------Idle - Max
    Core 0 - 30 - 74
    Core 1 - 29 - 73
    Core 2 - 28 - 70
    Core 3 - 27 - 65

    -------Setting - Observed - Peak
    VCore - 1.380 - 1.408 - 1.424
    DRAM Vol. - Auto - 1.677

    Water Temp = 31.2C
    Ambient Air = 21.2C

    BIOS 1102

Haven't done a lot of testing yet ..... but

    CPU Multiplier = 46
    Voltage Control = Adaptive
    RAM Speed = XMP (2400)
    VID = 1.380
    Windows Power Setting = Balanced
    (No Other BIOS Changes)

    Results under RoG Bench

    --------Max
    Core 0 - 81
    Core 1 - 80
    Core 2 - 77
    Core 3 - 74

    -------Setting - Observed - Peak
    VCore - 1.380 - 1.42 - 1.48
    DRAM Vol. - Auto - 1.677

    Water Temp = 31.2C
    Ambient Air = 24.3C

Tested 4.5 Ghz again with Cache ratio at 42 and 45 and got similar results as before with 4.5 Ghz except I had to raise the voltage from 1.28 to 1.32 .... originally wrote this off to the increased cache ratio but it appears to make no difference. The new BIOS just throws a lot more voltage it seems. BYW, when ya see

    VCore - 1.380 - 1.42 - 1.48

That means I set it at 1.38 .... it spent most of its time under RoG Bench bouncing between 1.42 and lower numbers but HW monitor did record an instantaneous peak of 1.48

All in all I am a bit unhappy about BIOS 1102 .... (7C temp increase ? .... OK ambient up 3 but the voltage is just too much) would not have upgraded except Asus TS insisted I do so or they wouldn't offer support on my lost wireless problem.

Sorry for the previous posts, something went wrong.

Just gotten this board, having a few questions.

    I will be running Windows 8.1 64bit

SATA drivers: I notice there is 3 kinds of drivers, Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology Driver Software, Intel Rapid Start Technology Software and Intel Smart Connect Technology Software.

Do I need all 3 or just 1? I have a Kingston HyperX 3K SSD and a 3TB WD Black and a WD Red if that matters.

Also I have Xonar Essence STX from previous build, will Perfect Voice and Sonic Radar work with that ?

Is there a preferred order to install drivers in to avoid trouble?

So How do I disable CPU Fan header? This board doesnt let me boot without any fans connected to it. Can't find it in BIOS. Disabled everything and still the same. Thanks!

Have the machine up and running about 6 weeks now.... still wrestling w/ some issues. Some questions:

    1. AiSuite's Fan Expert 2 now doing an excellent job controlling pumps and fans. But the EPU thingie that puts the little slide out plane and stuff for various performance modes .... I'd like to leave it installed till I get a chance to play with it .... but when my son uses puter to play his flight sims, it keeps popping out and closing his window. Any way to disable it from auto starting at boot time ? Nuthin in msconfig or Mike LIn's StartupCPL .

    2. Where does cache ration wind up when left in the Auto position ? I'm told that default is 39 (which XTU confirms) but when I run RoG bench at 45 CPU Multiplier and 39 Cache Ratio, I get much higher temps than at 45/Auto.

    3. I notice that when running at RoG Bench with say a VID of 1.325, under adaptive I expect Vcore to change but not VID. Yet I see it changing as high as 1.44 under RoG Bench which not only seems a bit extreme but I thot VID was the setting ya pick and Vcore was what adaptive does to it.

    4. Anyone else seeing worse performance, higher temps (7C) and higher voltages under identical settings with BIOS 1102 versus 804 ?

    5. What is Q-Code 30 ? Manual says reserved for ASL below which says waking up from sleep state but sleep is disabled and I'm using puter when I see it.

The description for 1203 is same as 1102 "Improve system stability" which I found the opposite to be true.....installing 1102 made my system completely unstable at my old OC's ....

My 4.5 GHz OC has gone from 1.275 volts to 1.325 ... and now adaptive is bringing it way up to 1.44 under RoG Bench. So I'm anxious to find out how others are doing with 1102 and now 1203 before making another switch.
