I noticed a little bit of stability in the system boot, it takes about the same time in every checking, vga, hdd, etc. Before it used to hang a little in the vga and hdd. I haven't noticed improvement in temperatures or voltages so far, but everything is working, that's always my fear before an update.
I'd really like to see some release notes on the bios update about the issues they solved, but...

Release Notes Please...and put them in the ZIP file!

    Exactly my point!

Also, I would think that release notes would cut down on the number of people posting here with update problems, because less people would be using every update.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy there are updates, thanks Asus! I just got off a mobo from Intel that stopped getting updates in 2009! I went from XP to Vista (groan) to Win 7 with the same BIOS. So keep the updates coming Asus, just let us know if we need them! A classic example, saying the released BIOS has "Support New 4th-Generation Intel Core Processors" doesn't help. In X months, there may be NEWER processors which this BIOS won't support. So, list the "new" processors the BIOS supports! Saying "Stability improvement" causes anyone who's had stability problems, even if we try to OC past a processor's ability, to install the update just to see what the improvement MAY be. Why not just read "improved on release 1304 which would BSOD when <insert arcane USB disk here> was used". Well, if I didn't use that disk, I wouldn't care for the update.

I understand that Asus can't say everything...as competitors could use it against Asus in literature or in new products. ("Asus didn't support X, but we do...see their release notes below!") but there has to be some balance made between the users need to know and the company's need to protect itself.

And as a final thought, once they get some release notes, I'd hope they put that in a text file that's included in the zip file. It makes no sense to have to look on their web site just to verify what a particular release does.

    Cheers,

    -Ambi

Not going to happen sorry. We have asked before for more detailed changelogs and the current level of detail is the maximum they will go. Prior to that it was plain "Improved system stability."

    Also:
    a) Stablity improvements does not by any means cover overclocking beyond the CPU sample's capacity. That much is commong sense.
    b) For CPU support there's a detailed list of supported CPUs and from which version of the UEFI (or BIOS for the older boards) they're supported from.

If the translator is right, you want to know if you can use two amd (ati) 5970 cards on your mobo right?
Yes you can use even three cards if your psu can take it.

Thanks for the info. I am glad I came here first instead of googling it.

Hey all, just stumbled upon this thread while googling for a possible fix for my issue; I have an i7 4770k and the BIOS is reporting an overvoltage on core #0. Previously another user posted something similar but got no further response.

    http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread...l=1#post387269

(Sorry for hanging on the thread but I did this to follow up with this specific issue).

At this point I started to think this is indeed an issue with the voltage sensors because the temps for all the cores are pretty much equal, in other words, more voltage = more temp, right?

Anyway, I'd appreciate if someone can help me troubleshooting this.

RAID will not help you with random 4K much at all. Only with sequentials. There's nothing you can do to raise them other than messing with the NTFS flags. Look into fsutil.
