Yeah rock solid build, however I would sugget getting a 770 instead of the 670.

Welcome to the forums Punkrocker. I also agree with LukeeVassallo about the 770. It is slightly pricier but the performance increase is totally worth it. Also, I would recommend getting a Corsair H100i as opposed to a Corsair H100 due to its better performance and newer features. At the time of this post, the H100i is actually the cheaper of the 2 on newegg.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions. GTX770 will be mine 😄

Between I downgrade to Inter i5 4670K since I'm just going to do gaming, i7 is not much of a difference.

What about AMD FX8350 vs i5 4670K ?

CPU: i5-4670k Haswell
GPU: GTX 760 - the 770 is almost twice as much and not worth the performance increase (in my opinion).
MOBO: The maximus hero has great on-board sound but no built in WiFi or blue-tooth so u'll have to but them separate if that's your thing. Also there is no such thing as a gaming motherboard its all just sales gimmicks. To save sum cash look into a $150 board ie. MSI G45, Asus Z87-A...
Cooler: H100i has a cool led and decent software. Look into Thermaltake water 2.0 and Swiftech H220.

The 3rd gen i5, the 3570k have better performance than a FX8350, the 4th gen 4670k wins by quite a lot.

No disrespect to the AMD fanbois, (I feel your pain guys) Intel is king right now and AMD is not even close.

4670K is the best CPU for a gamer right now without doubt.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

I totally agree. I'm so pleased with my 3820 that I'm actually considering spending even more to get a 4930K next month. If 4 cores are this good, 6 must be delicious. 😉

For the OP, what resolution are you gaming at? That's really what should dictate your choice of graphics card. If you're at 1080p (single monitor, non-stereoscopic), a 760 is gonna be your best bet. If you're playing in 3d or at a higher res than 1080p, then you'll either want a 770 or two 760s (ymmv)

Thanks a lot for the advices. Based on the suggestions I'll stick with the following build:

Corsair Hydro Series H100i
EVGA GeForce GTX760 (Since I'm running single monitor at 1080p, if in the future I change monitor or add one i'll buy another 🙂 SLI )
Corsair Vengeance Pro Series 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1866 MHZ
Corsair Professional Series HX 750 Watt
ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO
WD Green 2 TB Desktop Hard Drive
Corsair Graphite Series Steel Silver 600T
Intel Core i5-4670K
SSD ADATA SX900 128GB (Already own it)
