Would like some help verifying the compatibility of the SSD I'd like to purchase

I got the G74SX-BBK11 a year or two ago, and it has 1 1TB 5400 RPM HDD, and 2 slots for drives. I wanted to buy the following SSD to use as the primary boot drive, but before I went through with buying it, I wanted to be sure of a few things. Basically to be sure that it's compatible, and just overall verification that it's the one I want to get.

It will be compatible....yes....I don't know if that laptop has SATA 2 ports or SATA 3. The SSD is SATA3 and will work on either port but if the laptop has SATA 2 ports it simply wont max out the speed of the drive....but will still be better than any HDD by a long way....

Maybe someone can confirm SATA 2 or 3...a year or two ago I would like to think it is SATA3....
