Nvidia Driver & Overclocking help! (G750JX)

I installed the Nvidia Geforce Experience and it helps to auto update.

However, I noticed that the latest driver I have is 311.83. From the main Nvidia website, the latest driver for gtx770m is v320.

Why doesn't the laptop update to v320? Is G750jx going to be stuck at 311.83 forever?

I have read a lot about people using overclocking programs.

How do I overclock? Are the programs for overclocking already in the laptop?

Is it safe to overclock? Will it decrease my laptop's life or cause serious issues?

Sorry for all the questions as this is my first gaming laptop and I am really lost. Thank you!

You can download and install latest GeForce 326.41 notebook drivers from nVidia website.
I overclock CPU using Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and GPU with Asus Tweak. CPU multiplier can be increased by 2, so you'll get extra 200MHz for free. I maxed out graphics card at 932MHz GPU / 5500MHz Memory.

Hi Ronteque, regarding the oc'ing, I use msi afterburner and I kinda maxed the gfx. Anyways, don't be afraid to oc, this legendary cooling ASUS provides won't let you down. HF overclocking!:D^_^

The important thing to observe when overclocking is the temperatures. The good thing is that all of these programs mentioned so far come with temperature monitoring features. My temperatures are usually anywhere between 70-75C under full GPU load. I'd say anything below 80C for the GPU is completely safe.

Is it really safe to turn the multiplier core up by 2 across all 4 cores with the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility?

If you primarily use your laptop for gaming then you probably don't even need to overlook the cpu. Games usually don't max out cpu usage.

Has anyone here updated the GTX 770m driver to 326.41? Like the original poster I am stuck at the original driver. I am running Windows 7 64-bit though, NOT windows 8. I'm worried updating the driver to something else will screw up the GPU (otherwise it would auto-update via Nvidia).

I've updated to 326.41 without any problems - Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

Hmm, I just tried updating to 320.49 and got an incompatible hardware error from the Nvidia install process. (facepalm on me?)

I did manage to get 311.93 installed without any issues though.
