Installing Linux on a G750

Has anyone here installed a Linux OS on a G750 yet? This is all I found so far on it : http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread...-compatibility

My G750JX came with Windows 7. I installed ubuntu on my prior laptop without any issues (option to boot to Windows 7 or UB on startup). I'd like to get that same setup going again, either with UB or Linux Mint.

If anyone can point me to a guide of some kind that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello there.
I was testing Linux Mint. And have it installed on my machine right now. It is as dual boot and its very simple to install.
I split HDD to two partition. I downloaded Linux mint ISO. I mounted in Demon tool and run it as virtual drive. once you do that you can install it from the windows. It is very simple and intuitive. I install mine on the partition i created on HDD. Once you done with everyhting and restart computer, right before your welcome screen in windows you will have option to booth in linux or windows. Everything works fine except one thing. Our wireless card is not supported by Linux. I spend few hours looking around and couldn't find the way to make it work. :-(

Hmm, which card do you have? I am running the stock card from ASUS (not the killer card or an upgraded intel card).

To figure out which card you have, please run the following command: "lspci" at the terminal and post the output. Atheros cards are supported, as are several others (Intels included, I believe).

My wireless card is Broadcom 802.11ac.
I havent been able to find the driver for this yet.

I found a way to do so, just either get a second hard drive or shorten the partitions to only one for windows and then just leave the other one unformatted and when you do the live USB don't change any settings in the boot setup and install choose install alongside windows, it won't even try to have you choose amount of partition and it will even create efi boot on that hard drive and work perfectly without even downloading the drivers for the NVIDIA card, I did it with my G750JW 1TB with WD 1TB added and Ubuntu 13.04 from Linux Live USB Creator, try it and let me know how it works for you

Running Arch (w/ Gnome) AND secure boot enabled. Works great (besides some tweaking with backlight). No HW issues at all...
