G750JX CPU Overheating

I'm having issues of the laptop instantly and unexpectedly powering down. I just bought the thing from a Fry's in Dallas, but I live in AZ, so returning it will be rough.

I installed SpeedFan and then started playing Planetside2 and the GPU temp looks great, never really getting past 58 or 60. But the CPU temp was pegging the 90c, I didn't see what it was at when it shutdown.

I don't hear the fan much and don't feel a whole lot going out the backend. I can't find a fan control, perhaps my fan isn't working? CPU temps are easily 50-65c even sitting at the desktop in Win8.

I'm thinking of trying to re-seat the fan and heatsink with better paste, but I don't want to void the warranty if something is truly wrong.

Any one have similar experiences?

Thanks,
Tom

If CPU temps go over 90 degrees while playing a game, then I strongly recommend you RMA it for a repaste. It's not supposed to run that hot. Doing it yourself will void warranty.
