brand new doesn't mean faulty. if you haven't perform any test to your laptop, you should do it (at least the following):

1. check your cpu/gpu temperatures at room temperature; you can do this by running hwinfo64 and then play games for a few hours;
2. test your ram; use memtest86 and run it for at least 3 passes.

regarding the DPC thing, it could be due to a lot of things. it's best if you can provide us with more clues (e.g. what did the event log said about this? was there any mem dumps that might be of help?)

maybe you can try the following out first:
1. http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?30492-dpc_watchdog_violation-error-%28Blue-Screen%29
2. http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?30805-HELP!-BSOD-on-Asus-G75V-when-trying-to-detect-devices!

For what it is worth, I was getting all kinds of BSOD errors. switching from 1.5v to 1.35v ram fixed the problem.
