Cannot get server 2012 to connect to the internet

i have a asus maximus v formula and a 3770k cpu and I am having huge problems getting windows server 2012 to connect to the internet either with wifi or with a wired connection.
can anyone help me with this as I am get mad trying to figure it out:mad:

Go into your BIOS and check to see if your NIC(onboard?) is enabled

In the OS have a look at your devices are you networking or wifi components picked up?

thanks it was that the nic was not enabled I feel like a ass for not checking such a simple thing
