Mic noise, what is making this?

I have a weird noise coming from my mic when my G75 is plugged in, it goes away when i unplug it.

Used audacity to record.

The charger is also making a loud noise sometimes.

Grounding issue. Have you tried other outlets?

Odd, the mp3 file sounds more like a fan than what I'm used to hearing when there's a ground problem. But if you're getting noise from the adapter as well, you should contact Asus. You may need to simply replace the adapter; the brick could be faulty.

But if it's a problem with the laptop, chances are they'll need to swap a component.

There's a big chance it's faulty.

I also forgot to mention that my "brick" once went dark for a short time.

I have thought of buying a new, slimmer one.

Nah, it was just my mic config. It's gone now.
