Here is a large photo of that Parvum mini ITX case. Can anyone tell which way the heat pipes are oriented? It appears like they may be next to the VRM module, based on the location of the screw access slots on the cooler grill. This is the same as which the 2nd setup that appears to have a GPU position conflict but it apparently works in the 3rd Parvum setup, unless it's actually a Thermalright AXP-100 with the large RoG style fan? But one thing I want to know even is if it's possible to change the RAM tucked under the grill side without removing the cooler? It should be doable with low-profile heat spreader RAM though. People keep pushing the closed loop water cooled solution instead but this AXP cooler looks damn sexy and I like it.

I'm awaiting arrival of a Maximus VI Impact and I wanted to ask if anyone's tried using the Scythe Big Shuriken 2 Rev. b with it.

I currently have the Shuriken on an MSI Z87I but it blocks the pci-e slot. This won't be a problem on thr Impact but I'm afraid the heatsink will interfere with the vrm daughterboard.

    Thanks in advance!

the noctua nh-d14 fits. but you have to use low profile ram if you want to install both fans. i build it in the bitfenix prodigy. pictures are here: http://www.sysprofile.de/id179798

Can you post photos of it installed? Curious what orientation you used with that Noctua cooler. - Thanks

Hey guys, I'm thinking of putting this board in the new Corsair Obisdian 250D, with the case being so small it only has 95mm of clearance above the board.

Now I ended up looking at the Noctua NH-L12 cooler, but with its large footprint of 123x150mm, can I orient it so that I can still fit two low profile RAM's and a double sized graphics card? I thought perhaps by facing the heatpipes away from the RAM slots it might all fit...barely?

To answer your question: yesterday I moved my mini-ITX build from an Elite 130 case to an Obsidian 250D. I also use a NH-L12.

There are three ways the NH-L12 can fit on the Impact - the VRM daughterboard on top prevents orienting the cooler with the heatpipes facing up. All other orientations are fine.

The NH-L12 works great and you can fit even normal profile ram underneath it (huge heatsinks are out of the question, though).

Having performed some trial and error mountings, I have decided that the best possible orientation for this heatsink is with the heatpipes facing towards the PCI-Express slot. The heatsink's base plate is slightly concave and it appears to make better contact with the CPU's heatspreader in this orientation.

Plus, this way you can fit both fans (120mm & 92mm underneath, slightly offset towards the heatpipes).

The only downside to this orientation is that you cant use the front audio jacks on the case: the front panel audio connector on the soundcard daughterboard is too close to one of the heatpipes. What a stupid design decision on such a cramped motherboard to place the front audio panel header facing towards the CPU socket.

Is phanteks ph-tc14pe suiteable for Impact ? It seems phanteks has lower heatsink than NH-D14.

I have seen the Coolermaster GeminiII S524 on this board, however it is a Single 120mm fan blowing down onto the surface of the motherboard so it may not be the greatest idea. I have been running the stock intel I7 4770K fan and it's not working very well in my Sugo10 case with an R9-280X. Must find an alternative.

Why Asus hasn't listed any compatabilities besides Noctua baffles me.
