Official Rampage IV Black Edition X79 Thread

Well I might think of getting this as long my 3960x Sandy Bridge-E works with it.. >.< if its only for Ivy Bridge-E then it be pointless for me to upgrade the cpu just to get this board working...

In a way it feels like a replacement to the people that had issues on the Extreme Board due to cold boot issues.. Just as long its responsive just like the Formula boards when you turn on the power switch on the case :3

The motherboard will work just fine with the SB-E processors.

yay :3 that's good news. All that lies now is just hope there is no issues like cold post like the extreme boards I had previously.

Cause this board really looks sick and it was a let down for me when the extreme ones I had, cause I was planning to take advantage of the 8 memory slots and max it with 64gb.

Plus of all that, I was about to use RamDisk with it on the 64gb.

But when the issue came I had to come to a downgrade conclusion at the time cause I was on a lil short on budget and needed to research more, so I can be cautious on a board that I can rely on with no problems + it had to be a ROG board :P

But above all else, I just love to collect ROG products.

With the refund out of the Extreme I'm gonna buy the Raidr :3 and good thing that the black edition is coming out on the end of October cause by the time its November is the time I get stuff

The board is what R4E should have been at the time it was released, but anyway ASUS will have my money again .

I'm wondering one thing about the new Black Edition - is it going to have ROG Armor like MAXIMUS VI FORMULA? If they put a ROG Armor the board will be EPIC.

I had a quick question regarding the Rampage IV black Edition. I am building a system with RIVE at the moment and I have prepared custom sleeved cables however these were for the Rampage IV Extreme Motherboard. For the EZ Plugs, I prepared a single PCI EXPRESS 6 pin (extra gpu power) and a single Floppy 4 pin (ez for extra ram power) directly from the power supply custom sleeved.

Does anyone know if there has been a change to the EZ-PLUGs in the black edition, and if so, can you let me know what they are (type of power connector(s) for EZplugs and how many of each), so I can get new custom sleeving prepared in the meantime while I wait for the board to be released in October.

i tried, and it went into my shopping basket, for that price..

But i didnt check out.
