@ryamldess Thank you for the review link, it really helps me understand the price to performance ratio.
@Nodens My 64GB dual channel 1866 are 4 packs, same model, same speed 16GB? not one 64GB package. Would it be different?
    @MonnieRock Please tell me how to tweak it stable in 2133, I probably go with the lazy no OC, 2 of this;
    CORSAIR Dominator Platinum 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR3 1866 CMD32GX3M4A1866C9
But then Gskill is more affordable ..
I have to decide fast, cos mobo gonna be here like next week (west coast) . .. hopefully .

Yes. 99% you will have huge trouble getting it to work, it will require manual tuning and there's a chance that they will not work at all. If they do though it will be below their spec'd frequency and timings.

The skinny on DRAM choices if you want plug-and-play is this:

    1) Stick with kits rated at no faster than DDR3-1600.

    2) Anything faster than DDR3-1600, "might" need manual tuning.

    3) Go for kits that are qualified on X79, check ASUS QVL and memory vendor QVL.

You can add those three to the other tips posted in the Ivy-E OC guide stickied within this forum.

That's all I can advise. Can't tell you 100% every kit will work plug-and-play with a given CPU.

    cutbuter4mfg,

Not to sound harsh or rude but,

When the Manufacturer Representative Raja, who is not some suit and tie sitting behind a desk, that has a vast amount of experience in enterprise level system integration, hardware configuration, was part of the development team/production team for the RIVE Black Edition, and a tweaker/overclocker himself suggests "Do not mix kits, even if the same brand/part number/size/etc" why would you even consider doing that? I myself take that wealth of knowledge that he has shared as " Concrete". My analogy would be when someone tells you not to touch something because it is extremely hot but you touch it anyway and severely burn your hand. Could you get lucky, maybe. But, why risk getting burnt by mixed kits? Add to that, several senior members for example Nodens, have a lot of experience too and they suggest against mixing kits.

Going 64gb, I will give you one guess why I bought a full 64gb kit.

I am following Raja's and Nodens' advice.

As for your question about tweaking 2133Mhz, I do not have my board yet, so I can not say with first hand experience what challenges I faced, if any, using the Dominator Platinum 2133Mhz 64Mhz single kit. As I said in a previous post, I will post what my results are.

My best suggestion to you is, listen carefully when Raja gives free advice with his level of experience. He is just trying to help you and all of us have the best results with our new systems.

    Thank you,
    Monnie

So after NCIX had the 9 showing at the NY warehouse, I noticed it later dropped to 5 and then back to 0. Now however it's showing 10 in Washington. Very strange. Still don't have actual tracking info besides knowing the label was created. It looks like something is happening over there at least, let's hope it's something good.

    edit

Also, the real-time stock checker shows 0 at the LA warehouse and 10 "in-transit stock". No mention of LA (it didn't show NY either when the default page showed it). I'm not sure if this is good news, but at least it's news.

This thread sounds more and more like war press correspondence. Satlink straight from the heat of the battle with the retailers!
