Formating and reinstalling

Hey! First of all, this is my first gaming laptop (perfect so far).

Since this is the first time I have a laptop without a separate Windows-disc, I have a problem. I have an 240GB SSD lying around and want to put it in my G750JW. Problem being, how do I install windows 8? My old laptop had the option to create recovery discs (Win 7), but I see no option to do so here.

I tried searching the computer for "recovery" and all it gives me is a choice of creating a recovery USB-drive which I can use if the computer busts down or something, but that's not the actual windows.

Couple of questions, though... Is Win 8 region locked? Seeing as you're from the US and I'm in EU. Also how can I check my license key?

EDIT: I found the product key in the windows registry, but for some reason when I try to download the installer from the website you provided it says "This product key cannot be used to install a retail version of Windows 8."

What gives?
