A pleasant day to you ROGers!

How are you all? I hope everyone is having a great day so far! I would like to hear from other fellow ROGers about their thoughts and ideas with regards to something that I've been thinking of buying.

I'm planning to buy this monitor from Newegg to plug my ASUS G74SX:
ASUS VG248QE Black 24" 144Hz 1ms (GTG) HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD 3D Monitor Height&pivot adjustable 350 cd/m2 80,000,000:1 Built-in Speakers
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236313

However, I've tried reading stuff about how to utilize a monitor's 120Hz Refresh Rate. According to my research, the speed and/or bandwidth of an HDMI port, even if it's compliant to version 1.4, is comparable to a Single-Link DVI-D Cable so it won't be able to handle 1920x1080 120Hz screen resolution, even if I use an HDMI to Dual-Link DVI-D Adapter to use a Dual-Link DVI-D Cable (since ASUS didn't put any DVI-D for the ASUS G74SX models). I've been wanting to upgrade my display, and that specific model fits my needs, but can be changed for a different model since all I need is at least 1920x1080 120Hz display and not really concerned about 3D.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you very much for taking your time to read my post and may you all have a very nice day ahead!
