It looks like the Elan driver is customized by vendor, Asus in this case, and what you see is what you get. You could ask Asus and see what they say - maybe you can suggest to them the feature set of another laptop vendor as a starting point for what you need.
What vendor/laptop has the customization features you want? What is the OEM that supplies their trackpad? Can you post jpgs of the config dialogs so we know what you are talking about?
Elan provides the Asus trackpad, and on their site they show a basic control panel add-on:

The Asus Gesture Dialog looks much more feature rich, even if it doesn't give you control over programming additional customizations.
