Hi I had a question on the ME download.

I noticed all the drivers on the Asus site are very old so I've been getting the latest.

I have a question though is version 8 the one I have to use for Maximus V Formula?

I'm using Win 8.1 and a Intel Ivy CPU. Will this latest version 9 be okay to use?

I have something like "Intel(R) Management Engine Interface driver has failed to perform handshake with the Firmware." when trying to install firmware 8.1.5 + 9.5.14.1724 drivers...
M7H / Matrix 7970 P (flashed to R9 280x Matrix P) + 2 x DELL U2713HM / i7 4790k + h100i push&pull / 3 x Kingston 3k SSD 120GB / 1 x Corsair ForceGT 120GB / TridentX 2400 2x8gb / Corsair Graphite 600t case + AX1200i + NZXT IU01 + Bitfenix USB3.0 internal adapter

As far as I can tell mate, the 9 drivers are for Z87 boards and the 8 drivers are for the Z77 boards, I have the MVF and Win 8 so I just used the drivers that windows update provided, the 8.1.0.1263 drivers.

The 9.0.5.1367 are for these boards and you can see they all have 87 in them,
Intel® Desktop Board DH87MC
Intel® Desktop Board DH87RL
Intel® Desktop Board DZ87KLT-75K

So I wouldn't use the 9.0.5.1367 drivers.

Either way 9.0.0 seems to be working with my firmware...

But I can use the latest INF on the Intel site correct? Instead of the ones on the Asus site.

Yes you can, but for most folks there is no need to ever install MEI.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

The issue is if I don't I get an exclamation mark in the devices panel.
