Hehehe, well if I can find any good info, I will share it here....though, i've read that AMD hasn't mentioned pricing for the R9-290x, though they did say it will be available for pre-order from the 3rd of October.

The more I hear about this card the more I wonder about it killing Titans....if it did it would be priced accordingly...surely....more like competition for 780 and Titan?....no competition on looks....thank God for water blocks if stuff is made that fugly:-P
VRMs are key, and I wish they would be more robust. Currently we have to zombie cards to use them at any kind of hard OC. But for normal every day use they are fine.

Some cards have good VRM design but they fall down in bios's at times. Not speaking about ASUS here.

Yeah same as what i heard from a mate that watched it
The top 3 models are the R9 270X, R9 280X and R9 290X, I didn't catch the price on the top one but I can tell you the lower 2 are priced at $200 and $300 respectively. And they said the top one will be available to pre-order on Oct 3rd and there will be a limited amount that come with BF4.

AMD has kept to the same pricing structure the last three releases I think So look to the mid £400 in the UK. USA will be a lot cheaper than ours.

Arne, I can not completely agree with that ^^^... yes, quality is obviously important too, but the amount of the VRMs also matters!

At least from my experience... - those graphics cards which were tined by manufacturers with more VRMs always performed much better for me over the reference design ones... well, there are obviously exceptions too, but it stands for most Nvidia and AMD cards I've tried...

Well, new AMD flagman card is what I'm aiming at for the last 5 months.

PCB looks pretty much the same as 7970, and I saw some info about 5+1 phase design.
Previously I was pretty good with my 7970's but I always got a feeling that VRMs are just a bit limiting my overclock.

Unfortunately, recent huge AMD preview hasn't clarified anything about 290x, but seems that ES cards are already send to previewers (HiViz how are you?) and we've gonna find out the Truth pretty much soon.

    To Z and Arne:
As I said, VRMs are pretty much like the limiting factor for me, but, I can't say that my cards are slower than DC2, Matrix or even Lightning that is for sure the boss among 7970s.
In my experience, you have a better chance to get high ASIC binned card with reference than mod edition.
At least all 4 reference 7970s I had tested were 70%+

PS And yes, about "faster than titan":
It's like a budge that is often applied to new cards, but I'd like to refuse using such quotes, at least before it hits the market and gets on HWbot.
It's not all that simple to judge now)

If it trades blows with a Titan will be an achievement, and a good thing for us end users. Nvidia does not like to loose the crown so I would guess that Nvidia would eventually release a Titan Ultra model before there next line to keep the crown
