I experience since month a random crash about once a day. The crash is generally a graphic bug : the screen become filled with strips of current colors(look at this video that show exactly my bug :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bRZT0plK0o ). Only a reboot solve the problem. On reboot computer start normally and resume working for hours.
Sometime I have BSOD with a message refering to atksomething error. Though it is more rare and might relate to other problem.
I used to thinkthe VSOD a rare bug, but it happened often when I play HOI3 (multiplayer) or SFIV and not at all when playing RO (even multiplayer).
I have change the RAM because memtest discover some memory error but only the 3rd time I run it (this is the version running under windows). I have updated my BIOS. But the bug is still here.
My system is :
Windows 7 64 bits
650 watts corsairsp PSU
P7P55D-E mother board
BIOS 15.04
Intell core i7 870 4 cores
Radeon HD 5870 1 GB GDDR 5 Sapphire
Catalyst 11.8
VBIOS : 012.020.000.001.036486
I read that there was a GSOD problem on some ROG notebook that was solve with flashing the Vbios. I wonder if there is a fix for the normal graphic card?
Best regards
Skanvak
Subsidiary, with this system can I use a better graphic cards?
