Hi. Hi. Just want to anounce to all that 770m upgrade on asus G73SW is possible
I am in process of instaling video driver now, will come back with benchmarks later.
Also I am pretty sure 780m upgrade is possible to. Not sure of heat problems though.
770m I installed is from Dell and vbios modding is necessary to get upgrade.

Yea, it's true. Im kinda surprised because my friend's lap (gtx770m, i7 4800) only got about 52xx in 3dmark11.

Individual laptops vary, to be honest. Look at Notebookcheck.net, and you'll see that systems that look to be pretty much spec-identical score differently, even when the graphics card is the same. It has to do with optimization of the drivers, cooling (to prevent throttling during benching), and other factors outside of the user's control.
I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!

We now have 178 people whose systems will not break! Yippee! 🙂

Thanks. I have tested With overclocking now and score is in mid 6000 Points on 3dmark11. Its amazing for almost 3 years old Laptop.

I recently made a thread on g series notebooks for my g75vw. Stock 660m but upgraded to 780m. Flashed bios with both 660m and 780m vbios. I can't get it to boot past ROG boot screen. Here is the link to the thread. Any help would be appreciated here.

Since you have successfully have done this in the g73, it has to be possible on the g75.
I'm also curious on upgrading from 180w to 220w, what exactly did you do?

780m and heatsink are both out of a Asus g750jh

Thanks!!

Thank you my friend for the help 😉
