Formula - Audio static when computer goes into sleep, wake or power on

Level 7
I'm getting a very large audio clicking noise, same as when you touch the jack to your hand. This occurs when I put my computer in sleep and it suspends and also when I wake, and when I first power on.

I updated motherboard to 804 bios, running Windows 8.1 Pro x64, and audio drivers are as follows:

Audio Driver Version: 6.0.1.7023
DirectX Version : DirectX 11.0
Audio Controller: HD Audio
Audio Codec: ALC1150

All drivers are updated from Asus website.

My Klipsh Promedia 2.1 speakers are plugged into the green line in input on the back of the motherboard.

Setup:
Windows 8.1 Pro, x64
Power supply: Coolermaster V1000
Motherboard: Asus Maximus VI Formula
Ram: 2 x 8gb G.Skill Sniper
CPU : I7 - 4770k
Graphics cards: 2 SLI GTX 780 Evga
Sound: onboard
Speakers: Klipsch Promedia 2.1,
Headphones: ATH-M50's.

Not sure what other info is really needed or relevant. Any help would be great!

Thanks.
