hey guys,
i had a fresh install of Windows 8.1, it was working properly for at least two weaks. After it forno reasons it started hang the switch off procedure.Only my screen went to power saving state.Once i leaved it hanging in that state. When i camed back home from work I was faced with my BIOS. I tryed load the optimized settings. After it my boot went crazy the boot up time is lower and i have the white blinking cursor which is jumping from the left upper corner to the center. After this it boots up.When i try to switch off my system, i am still unable.

Should i RMA? 😞

The white blinking cursor that you got jumping around I thought was when the boot priority isn't set up correctly and it is searching for the correct boot drive. I had this once before when the order got rearranged for some reason.

I will try to set the boot priority correctly and let you know what happened.

No you have no reason to RMA.

Your OS or some driver is not working correctly. I have not fully understood what is wrong but if you are having issue with a power down please uninstall the Intel IRST application if you have it installed.

Please list all your hardware and the bios version you are using.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

Here is a video of my PC with boot up and shut down process. If you need a HD version let me know 🙂

Bios is the lastest
HW: VGA - Evga GTX 780 SC / ACX,
CPU - Core i7 4770K,
Cooling - Noctua NH-D14,
SSD - OCZ Vector 128GB (for system)
SSD - OCZ Vector 128GB (for win server in the future) -> right now it is offline SATA cables are not plugged in
SSD - Kingston SSD Now 120GB (for games)
HDD - Seagate Barracuda 2TB for programs, etc
PSU - Enermax Revolution87+ 850W Gold
Memory - Kingston 16GB KIT DDR3 1600MHz CL10 HyperX Blu Black Series
MOBO - Asus Maximus VI Extreme

Right now, i can't access btw the AI Sutie 3 and can't install any software. I tried to install quicktime 7 and it hangs at the install process.

The blinking cursor is OK, it was the boot priority the problem. But right now still can't switch off my PC, so i am getting angry. Reinstalling my system, and going back to windows 7 ultimate. And will see if it's able to manage my switch off problem and will able to install any program problem.

Do you have or did you have IRST installed. This is a known problem that many many users are having at the minute. They can not power off because the system just boots back up again or the fans keep going.

I can not watch youtube on work network so unable to see what your exact issue is.
