Is it safe to change the refresh rate to 100Hz ?

for my laptop only 40 and 60hz, i think no, but if you want to do OC, i do not suggest it.

No, it won't work, and yes, it can damage your system. Most systems won't actually change, they'll just report that they are, but internally refresh at 60 Hz. If it actually does change the refresh rate, then the screen can get damaged, since it isn't designed to run at that rate.

hmm I thought new screens were capable of running up to 120Hz. I didn't change my settings so not sure if that's true.

You can change it to 100Hz easily. Go to Nvidia control panel/Display/Change Resolution, click on "Customize", set refresh to 100Hz, click apply, screen will blink couple of times, accept changes - you set. Makes all the difference in the world when gaming. And NO - it won't damage your screen, new screens support 100Hz, even Asus support said that it's fine.

thanks for all the replies, I've decicded to just leave it at 60, maybe change my screen and get the 3d one if thats possible 😮

You won't be able to change it yourself or thru the Tech Support. Your only option is to buy a new lappy with 3D.

Thanks, I stand corrected! 🙂 I didn't realize that was true. I thought that it could damage the panels. Thanks for setting me straight! 🙂

@nocontrol666, getting an external 3D panel is probably your best bet, since that will solve the problem of nVidia's driver knowing that the display isn't 3D capable. It will also get you the emitter that you need, along with the glasses.

Normal Screen = 60 Hz.

If you exceed that you will damage your screen
