Crosshair V Motherboard, Blank Screen Requires HARD Reboot

Hi Guys!

I've been having a consistent problem with my desktop computers. Specs:

AMD 1090T (not overclocked)
Crossfire V motherboard
AMD 7970 GPU
8GB RAM
Windows 7 64 bit

I leave my computer. I come back, screen is blank...and I have to force my computer off and on to get back into it. Sometimes it detects my keyboard input and I can get out of the screen blank to normal operation, sometimes not. It's unpredictable.

Is there a log I can see to find out which application if any is crashing?

Regards,

You can explore the event explorer logs.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

I tried that. I found a "power" listing for when I forced a computer shut down, but I can't find an actual error from a software program. Is there a specific log area I should be looking at?

You don't happen to be using the 13.11 beta drivers for your 7970 do you ?

They are doing that to a lot of 7xxx series owners, me included, a lot of us have gone back to 13.10 beta 2

Might need to run DDU from G3D forums to get rid of the old traces if you are using 13.11 betas before installing 13.10
