RaidR express
Whats the RaidR express card do exactly, and how does it differ from a 450gig corsair ssd. I have my operating system on a corsair ssd and i saw the raidr express card on a retailers website and noticed it goes into a pcie slot and not a sata slot. This is the first time i have seen one. Thanks

It is an interesting thing...
It's a PCIe platform with two SSDs... - hence the RAID in it's name... with a RAID 0 array those two SSDs should be really fast...

Thanks for the reply, its the first time i have seen one. I have never used a raid system before so i wouldnt know what to expect, but i must say it looks a neat bit of gear. I have watched a youtube video of an overview and have been trying to learn as much as i can about it. Got to admit that the ROG thing is great and certainly has a style of its own. I still dont understand the rego code on the cd that comes with it though.

I have to it .....as much as it hurts....... Don't waste your coin
If you want PCIe........I do.......look at the ocz revo drives.
Or just get the Samsung 840 pro and wait for sata express.Maximus VII Apex

A RADIR card is faster than a single SSD, but, if you RAID0 two SSD's they're even faster. The main and pretty much the only Pro to having a PCIe solution, is you will free up SATA ports on your board. And as CharFlo88 above stated, just go RAMDisk...you have 64GB of RAM there and 50 odd GB of it is going to waste, using a RAMDisk is even faster
but the initial load up time varies, depending on how much RAM you dedicate to it

Thanks for the awesome info, i will be changing the ram from the vengence 64gig to the dominator platinium 16gig to hopefully improve performance as i have been advised that the vengence ram does not sit well with the x79 platform and rampage 4 extreme in particular. But i do see where you are coming from and it makes sense to me. Thanks so much
