Crosshair V Formula Z & Vengeance 2133mhz

I have a Crosshair V Formula Z & Vengeance 2133mhz ram, i have upped the voltage to 1.6 and changes the timings from Auto to 11,11,11,27 but noticed the board only supports 1866mhz...

Think it's worth changing my timings to 9,10,9,27 for 1866mhz or will it be fine?

Cheers

Welcome to ROG.

The Z supports higher than 1866 .. the workable timings are between 'that' particular set of ram ..
and 'your' cpu. No two sets of identically branded memory or same cpu are alike.
As to a set of timings working on your setup .. only you can discover what runs best on yours.

Yes, the FX-9590 works on the Crosshair V Formula-Z - you just need to have the last BIOS version on that mobo...

For that CPU you do need all the power connectors connected and a good cooling...

And yes, perhaps it will play all those games too...

First run memtest86+ on default BIOS settings, then set the memories to their XMP/DOCP values and run memtest86+ again... theoretically you should be fine at 2133MHz, but you know, the lottery...

I had the same problem with that same ram. I couldn't find the ram on the boards compatibility list. I ended up selling the ram and going with the amd gaming ram 2133. The amp profile works like a charm.

I think the OP means the IMC on the 9590 is 1866mhz rather than the mobo.
Personally I would not touch the Vengeance range as they are just horrible looking, and their performance is not highly rated as it should be coming from Corsair.

Well, the IMC is about the hardware lottery... if you're lucky, then it will do it...
