Post BF4 + CPU Overclock Feedback Thread

    Hi everyone!

I opened this thread to get feedback from other ROG users who play Battlefield 4 with a CPU Overclock enabled.
Lately I have been getting a lot of crashes, which im sure now are related to my Overclock / BF4, although i pass multiple times RealBench 2.0 + Stresstest with no problems or too high temperatures.

If you do have the same problems, please write a post like my example, i will gather all the feedback then and edit this post + the second post in this thread with all information!

I asked Hivizman & Arne what could be wrong, some quotes of them:

    Arne:

With BF4 I would remove the OC or drop it down from what I have read. Not to say the OC is unstable ( I think it's BF4 that could do with some serious work) just that that might be the pragmatic thing to do.

BF4 seems to be a severe test on the CPU some times. Clock watchdog is a lack of vcore and WHEA RAM error stuff. Basically BF4 is either the new super stress test or hideously coded....I can't decide which...
    Hivizman:

Seriously dude I have so many mates who are having the same stuff going on.

Good thread, you need to ask Chino to participate he did a very good review of the game and how OCing helps.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

There are plenty of people experiencing crashes and sound drops in BF4 weather their system is overclocked or not but it is a fair bit harder on your pc than BF3 was, It's a very buggy game still but it is getting better with patches. How long it will be before it is sorted properly I don't know but it's getting there.

My cpu is oc'ed 24/7 and I play a lot of BF4 the biggest problem I seem to have is server crash & about 1/4 of the time sound drops I never need to oc my gpu in game so not sure what effect that might play. I do agree it is a little buggy right now and getting better with time they always rush these game to market far too early imo.

I was having problems with it from day 1. Not the CPU over clock but the GPU crashing on a vtx R9 280x even on medium settings. I found the best solution was to sell the 280x and buy a 290x. Any excuse for an upgrade. now it runs faultlessly on ultra settings and looks amazing. I originally ran the game on a maximus III extreme with a 875k at 4.5 GHz OC. I think it could have thrown up some issues if the GPU didn't keep tripping out so easily. I noticed the temps on my 4770k to be quite high, even compared to Crysis on full fat settings and the range of temps across the cores to be all over with temp differences of 12~15degrees across the four cores.
