DVD/CD drive is not burning CD's but completes the burning process

Hi all,

I've got a problem with my Asus G75VW, I was trying to create a simple music CD with Windows 7 64 Media player.
The burning process starts normal without any error messages, completes without any error messages but leaves the CD blank.

Any ideas.

Cheers Andy

@pitcher, he appears to be using Media Player. @Andili, have you tried any other program (such as [gasp!] iTunes), and what type of CD are you using?
I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!

Hi Pitcher and Zygomorphic,

I am using the media player and i never had any problems until 2 days ago and it is still not working.

I use regular RW CD's, the same I always used to use.

That's really odd. I was just making sure about that. Are there other CD burning utilities that you could try just to make sure that a recent Windows update didn't break something?

Hi Zygomorphic, no I have not tried any other program other than the Media Player because it used to work just fine.
Can you recommend me a program that ş could or should use.

Thanks very much

Roxio I think has a program, and I know you can do it with (gasp!) iTunes. I don't burn CD's, so it's hard for me to recommend something.

Do you think that it might be a good idea to reinstall the the Asus media drivers and If so which driver package should i use.
Sorry for the silly question but i can't find the DVD driver it self on the Asus Website.
I know that it has to be in the utility section but which one is it?

Thanks Andy

DVD driver I don't know. Media drivers would be worth a shot.

I think that DVD Drivers would be part of Chipset drivers? IRST Drivers? IME drivers? If your not up to date on these three, you may solve your problem by bringing them up to date.
I use Roxio 2012 Pro, and have no issues burning disk DVD or CD I have never tried a BD yet haven't really felt the need to yet.
I also use CloneCD this also works flawlessly for me and my preferred method burning music CD's You will get 30 day's trial and I would recommend it for music cd burning cloning or writing from ISO
I won't really recommend Roxio many people have problems with this program the only reason I still use it, is I beta tested it from the beginning with Adaptec. Its expensive and a resource hog and doesn't play well with other programs at times.

Installing upgraded Chip set drivers will have to be accomplished from a elevated command prompt
Create a folder on c:\Chip, and unzip the chipset driver to this folder

Right click on the Start Menu button and choose Command Prompt (Admin)

Type CD\ then hit Enter

Type cd chip then hit Enter

Type setup.exe -overall -overide then hit Enter.
