    Thanks for a quick answer. I will get on it as soon as I get th energy to open up the computer yet again(the cpu fan is in the way so it takes some time to change the RAM). Btw how do I know which frequency to set? My overclocking skills are almost non-existent, was too long ago. The timing is 9-9-9-24 and v = 1.6 . I have a phenom II x6 1090T

    Much as you expected, a faulty memory stick. Now I know though.
