Upgraded to windows 8.1 and now my dvd stopped working. looked at my boot menu and its not there. anyone know how to get it back as asus does'nt seem to have the bios download for it.

can you show in device manager? please try re-scan device manager, because it is using winsows driver.

have updated,says i have the latest driver available and uninstalled and reinstalled under device manager and still does not work although it says this device is working properly.

Know issue and fairly easy to fix.

Normally have to use Method 3 but you might get lucky with methods 1 & 2.

You say it doesn't work, more information needed!

Does it show in file explorer? what happens for example if you load a CD?
