cpu speed utilizaiton.

i use intel extreme tuning to watch my cpu utilization. The thing is its never drop down to 2.4 ghz. Always at 3.00 or 3.29 ghz.
Both max and average 3.29 Ghz. İsnt it supposed to be 2.4 while idle and 3.4 during the load?
İ decreased my voltage -100 withoıut OC. İ take 724 benchmark. Decreasing voltage did nothing to my performance.
İ just wondering my CPU Ghz utilizaiton.

It should be 0.77GHz when idle. Check what power plan you're set to, either via power4gear or windows power plans. There should be settings for min CPU utilization.

Mine goes on 800mhz everytime I launch a game.
Every thing in windows is set to 100%.
When I do other stuff, the processor is at 3.3ghz as set.

yes as u mentioned i figured it out mt power plan was performance. i adjusted it to power saving mode. Now it has been 0.80 Ghz minum average 0.83 ghz. thx for answer.
