G75vx Motherboard Replacement

The motherboard on my G75vx crapped the bed and the warranty is gone. I looked everywhere but can't find a replacement motherboard. On the other hand, I've vw motherboards everywhere. Could I put a vw motherboard in it?

Yes but there's more to it than that.

This is slightly different from doing the 670MX upgrade on a VW, since you have no 660M/670M to preflash with. Simply replacing a VX motherboard with a VW motherboard and still using the 670MX will result in a black screen. There is no 670MX vBIOS present in the VW BIOS.

This means I'll need to modify the G75VW.BIN file instead to support the 670MX which can then be called via EZ-Flash, which will force flash it automatically and reboot with display working again.

After that, you just use modified drivers and you are set!

I am personally bummed out by that there are no Asus 670MX's on Ebay 😛
