Rubber coating peeling on lid.

When I was cleaning up my G75VW I noticed a small, but noticeable, cosmetic flaw. The rubber coating was beginning to peel on the left corner of the lid. I am curious how I can resolve this. It's bothering me a great deal...thanks in advance.

Will that part totally stick out from the rest of the lid? I want this to look just like it is supposed to.

Potentially put a dot of super-glue on the frame under the coating and press the coating back into place? Just a thought.

I guess when I said peeling it made it sound like it was all there still. My problem is that a half an inch of rubber coating on the corner is completely gone, and it's driving me insane...and by gone I mean I am able to see the plastic cover of the lid.

Odd. After two years of heavy use, my G53SX has only built up quite a layer of skin oil (its shiny :p) and some bread crumbs in the keyboard. No missing paint or anything. Still, the plastidip job that @rewben did looks like a good way to do it! It's turned out really well, congratulations @rewben! 🙂

haha thanks @Zygo!

i am a careless kind of person. additional protections must be in place to prevent scratches. for instance, my g55. i brought it along to overseas and carried it around very often. it has battle scars all over the body in one and a half years. now it looks more macho than ever 😄

nevertheless, it never failed on me. it's impressive.

It's the first cosmetic flaw I have had on this puppy. I guess it's like they say, "the first cut is the deepest." I saw some carbon fiber decals online. I'm not sure what to think of them yet, though. They're from DecalRUS.
