Maximus VI Formula Compatible CPU Cooler.

I had recently bought a Maximus VI Formula, and ordered a be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 2 CPU Cooler. I have heard that the back plate for the cooler interferes with the ROG Armor on the motherboard.

But have heard they will fit, but will be in contact with each other. I don't think they would short out as they have coatings on them to prevent that, but I'm no expert.

Would really like to stick with these products. Worse case scenario is pulling out the multi-tool and cutting the ROG Armor for a safe fit.

Welcome to the ROG forums, ii Bz Tank.

You'll have to remove the armor to install the backplate. Then put the armor back on.

Hi Bz Tank. I have the same motherboard and want to get the same cooler. What clearance did it leave around the front armor and does it provide good clearance for memory with high heat spreaders? If you could post a pic of the front that wold be greatly appreciated.
