    Quad channel memory on RIVBE

How many sticks of ram do I need to achieve quad channel configuration on the RIVBE?
Do I have to fill all 8 slots with ram to get quad channel?
Is there a minimum number of slots that must be filled to get quad channel?
Is there some indicator in the BIOS that tells me I've achieved quad channel or perhaps a tool for windows?

Any recommendations on a 32GB kit under $400? I have the s#$tiest luck with ram. Currently have Patriot memory and have gone through 4 RMA's in the last year. Every batch has failed memtest..

To run quad you need four sticks...one in each channel...so for example populate all the red slots with a 4x8 single kit for 32GB quad channel. Or populate all slots with 8 sticks to run 64GB quad channel..

There are some great G.Skill Z series kits for the RIVBE.... http://www.gskill.com/en/product/f3-2400c11q-32gzm for example..

It is always best to get a single kit of 4 sticks and not to try and save a few dollars by buying two kits of the same make and model. Trust me on that one. You may get lucky, but then again you may not and then say hello to a world of pain.
